Bring JJ Hardy out of retirement if you need a stop gap for this year.  You can't let Manny walk for just a draft pick, or end up getting a lesser trade in July if the Dodger are prepared to offer a top package.

We will have plenty of offers.

Had plenty of offers during the off-season and ownership still wanted too high a return.

Did ownership want to high or were other teams offers lowball offers?

Manny is one of top 10 players in baseball.

It's not a lowball offer if it's the best offer available, an asset is only worth what the market is willing to pay.

Right, nine teams all low balled the O's. Just like at the deadline with Britton.

It's not us, it's them.

Sure, but the market is fluid and sometimes you have to wait for a better time.   And this appears to be it, with the Dodgers down one superstar and Manny having a monster season so far, especially compared to last year.

Oh I agree, the ask should be high.

I was just pushing against the idea that if no one is willing to offer what you want, that makes it a lowball.

If the Dodgers make a fair offer just pull the trigger.  Things can change in an instant and that includes Manny getting hurt.
