Isn’t DD already gone?  Notice the lack of player acquisitions.  We don’t fire anyone. DD is just sitting in the warehouse with a pen and resume drafts.

He doesn’t even have internet access.

Brady is the GM.

This board celebrated the Cobb acquisition like they won the lotto. Brady doesn’t get “blamed” for that one.

Maybe Cobb can improve.

Cobb already has improved, and there is nothing surprising about it.

He signed at the last minute, had no Spring Training to work with, and he subsequently took between 3 and 5 starts to pitch the way that he was expected to.

In his 1st start, Cobb was awful.

In his 2nd start, he was slightly better than he was in his first start (and a little better than his final line showed), although that isn't saying much.

In his 3rd start, he looked good for 4 innings before getting rocked in the 5th.

In his 4th start, he looked solid overall.

In his 5th start, he looked solid overall.

There is no blame that needs to be assigned for the signing of Cobb. The only thing that the Orioles did wrong in regard to Cobb was not insist that he make 2 or 3 starts in the Minors before pitching for the Orioles, although with the Orioles already hemorrhaging at the #5 slot with Tillman, it probably would not have made much difference in the team's overall W-L column even if they had done that ........ so the only thing that suffered as a result of Cobb pitching in the Majors before he was ready to was Cobb's individual statistics for the season.
