It's going to be tough sledding today with this lineup against Boston's ace. -

Reading some stuff about this but it appears that we don’t know how officials scorers scored plays or if they even existed. We don’t know if the papers reported it correctly. There is just so much unknown here. Just can’t see doing it. -
He and Mullins both have extreme platoon splits (simplifying to OPS): Hays vs LHP: .747 Hays vs RHP: .228 Mullins vs LHP: .348 Mullins vs RHP: .670 Neither guy has a glove good enough to carry them in the lineup vs the same hand of pitcher. Each must find their way back via strict platooning. -

Not surprised about Westburg, that was nasty on the HBP last night and it must be stiff as hell today I'd have to think. Lucky its not worse. Its a marathon, not a sprint, and I'm glad Adley is getting more bench days here and there (with the PH opportunity being out there as a bonus, like the game he sat in Chicago). Its still only May and its a helluva schedule coming up, so now's a good a time as any to give him rest, even w/ Westburg out. -

He’s played at a 3 WAR pace the last 4 years when healthy. The injury troubles are a concern but he has been a well above average hitter in that time frame (122 wRC+) with even better expected stats. He’s pretty much been a slightly better offensive and defensive version of Santander which I think would be useful for 1. Replacing Santander next year (and likely Hays, maybe Mullins if he doesn’t turn it around) 2. Adding another RH OF to play against LHP’s 3. Insurance if Hays/Mullins keep struggling this year. I think the BP is more pressing but I still think Ward would be a valuable addition.
