If we were competing, sure. I think Williams is a serviceable fifth OF, but he is what he is. He's 29 so not really part of the future.

I don't think Stewart is part of the future either, but he is two years younger. With Diaz on the horizon, it's now or never for Stewart. I think letting Williams go shows they expect Hays back soon enough that they're fine with Santander and Velazquez covering CF behind Mullins for a little while.

I'd like to see Stewart get some consistent ABs for a couple weeks. I don't really care about results as much as as he looks at the plate.

With Herrera's promotion, it makes me wonder if Hanser is okay. Either way, I'd like to see what Herrera can do. Lets see everyone that may be an option for the utility positions next year.

Well we know Hanser left the game late yesterday with some kind of injury and is not in the lineup tonight.

So I would say you are onto something.

With Iglesias DH-ing and Valaika and Velazquez at second and short tonight, another infielder was needed.

How do Mouncastle and Stewart split playing time. I want to see Ryan every day and if you are going to have Stewart up, he might as well play a lot. Give him a full chance

After this series, I'd bet Dean Kremer comes up to get his feet wet. Velazquez will be DFAd or Alberto will go on the DL depending on his health.

They made my day. I am a  Herrera fan and felt he should have been on the opening day roster. Much better than Velasquez.who can't hit.

I agree But we have to give Stewart a chance to prove that he’s not a wasted pic. At the moment, I don’t think it’s looking good, but that’s why you got to give him a chance.
