Sure didn't bother him on that homer. Frankly, with the O's up 8-1 when his hand got hit, I was surprised they didn't pull him immediately and get some ice on that hand. But maybe Burnes had told Hyde he really didn't want to pitch to McCann. 😇 -
Gotta love small sample sizes. Kerstad had a .507 OPS going into tonight's game, and now he's at .745. There's just no question that when he barrels a ball, it will travel a long way. In fact, he really doesn't have to get all of it. His balls carry in a way that you rarely see. He reminds me of 2012-16 Chris Davis that way. It's just a matter of whether he'll make consistent contact and get the ball in the air.

I never said they should get rid of Mayo. I hope he is a great Oriole but if he is called up tomorrow or in a month I will leave that up to Mike Elias. If the team wasn’t succeeding then there could be an argument but right now they are and he has his reasons to keep Mateo or Urias. -

Wednesday in Seattle, then he should have the OPACY 2-start week Cubs and Yankees to close down the 1st half. Shucky darn I hope that'll mean he has to be one of those All-Stars "unavailable". Workload wise around the All-Star break, 2nd half opens in Texas and we'll see if the club uses the opportunity to pitch Grayson and Burnes in four consecutive team games inching towards the trade deadline. -
He made a point in his post-game presser of saying he's chasing K's less often than he used to, and trying to locate well and get early contact.
