I think it is will be really tough to let him stay one more start in AAA.  Adley was not hitting 300 plus when they called him up.  They had some wiggle room there but this kid has done everything there is to prove he is ready.   I will predict he starts Tuesday or Wednesday versus Seattle.  This is something they should announce tomorrow.  If they do I will buy tickets.

McClanahan as a first rounder coming through Rays system was 175 innings, 215 strikeouts and 3.02 ERA.

Gerrit minors was 230 innings, 210 strikeouts and 2.66 ERA.

Casey Mize 125 innings, 125 strikeouts and 2.91 ERA.

Hunter Greene and MacKenzie Gore either had bouts of injury and/or ineffectiveness.

 

It’s been a while, but Bumgarner had a pretty dominant run.

Great pull - 387 innings of 2.30 ERA and 352 strikeouts, plus bonus points for mid 1st round prep pitcher.

Man would he be nice to start Game 2 next season.    Maybe re-engage the old lion with an AL novelty late career.

Bumgarner's career has always been interesting to me in the sense that there were no worlds left for him to conquer after his age 24 season.    Bumgarner 8.1.1989 was barely older than Adley Rutschman is now when seizing his 3rd ring with the all-time October.

Only a little over 2 weeks and the O's avoid Super 2 status on GrayRod.  With this last start, it's starting to look suspicious that they are doing exactly that.  It's not like the O's could use another starter now with Means done for the season and Watkins on the IL and Bradish looking like crap.

No Statcast like in Charlotte last turn, but noticed in that highlight video the cut to the Norfolk in-house radar showing 97 in the 7th inning.

Obviously any heat 90+ pitches deep this summer is going to be measured, but fingers crossed next spring and summer circumstances will be such we'll really get to see what he can do.

Bring on June's handpicked set of games.

Why wouldn’t you let him go another inning last night.  He has clearly built the count to where he should be able to get closer to 100.
