ESPN's Ravech: Teixeira has "enormous attraction to the Orioles" Close to signing

Okay, when you say things like "The Nats are a baseball team? They have fans?," you realize that you sound EXACTLY like Red Sox fans when they were playing Tampa in the ALCS, right?

They have real fans the same way that the Ravens have fans. Ravens fans didn't buy into having the Redskins shoved down our throat after the Colts left. The Redskins weren't "Baltimore." Just like the Orioles aren't "Washington D.C."

So quit with that, huh? Unless you want to sound like arrogant, self-involved Red Sox fans. ;)

Well said. Of course the Nats need some time (and some wins) to build their fan base, but exactly, don't write them off as some kind of second class franchise just like the Yanks and especially Sox fans do to us.

Bravo...

I tried to set this up for me but I took a call and you slammed it outta the park.:clap3:

Well played, you win a set of steak knives...

There is a scene in that movie where there is a baseball game on...who is the game and who is at the plate?

It was the game in '88 where the O's snapped the 0-21 start. I believe it's Randy Milligan.

Good post. I think we forget that they were .500 only a few years ago, something we can't say ourselves.

Meh. My reasons for being a Ravens fan are twofold;

1. I never liked the Redskins. No idea why.

2. It's the only professional sports team I can think of that's named after a poet who drank himself to death.

Poe did not in fact do that. Common misconception arising from the fact that the man who managed to become his literary executor hated him, and did everything in his power to destroy Poe's reputation after his death. Poe was neither a drunk nor a drug addict; he had a horrid reaction to taking morphine when he was given it once in the army, and more than one drink caused severe nervous reactions in him.

It's more likely he died of rabies. Really. No foolin'. Rabies. Not as cool as drinking yourself to death, sadly.

You want answers? You can't handle the answers...

Son, we live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Elon Os Fan? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the Orioles and curse the Red Sox; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

You don't want the answers because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use then as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

;)

Haha good one! I had to look up the youtube clip.
