I agree Pie & Hill are guys that they will be happy getting a modest return. Hill was effective in 2007. I'd be willing to take a chance on him for someone like Hayden Penn or Bass.

We might have been able to squeeze that out of the Cubs at last season's trade deadline (when Sherill's value was highest), but we'd have to add more now.

I doubt they add Marshall because they would lose a lot of roster depth there.

We could take a chance on Hill. I like the idea of 2 high risk/high reward guys for Scott, especially since Reimold is also there.

I agree, they lost Edmonds so a backup outfielder with power is probably what they want. They also would want one of our prospect pitchers along with bullpen help.

You are right, but it just seems to me that the Cubs aren't really interested in adding payroll (even though they would be shedding Marquis) and their most pressing need is a left handed outfielder.

Seems like Cedeno, Marquis and Pie for Scott (and no salary relief) is a deal that's pretty close to fair. Disagree?

Ceda is on the Marlins. Pie is this years Lastings Milledge. When the masses become bored, someone brings him up. Let's forget Pie and forget making a deal with the Cubs.
