Personally, I'm worried that our insiders have been played again like the Roberts situation. Hope I'm wrong, but I get the sinking feeling that the media reports are true and that the Orioles really aren't in this thing.

I've just been so down on the organization lately, I just have a hard time imagining we will win a free agent auction against the likes of the Red Sox and Angels.

I think all bets are off at this point. Up until last night, the Red Sox were considered the absolute favorite to land Tex and now it seems they're nothing but an afterthought. Sure, it's completely possible that the Nats pony up enough to land him, or the Angels swoop in at the last second and pull a Vlad II on us, but think about it. The national media had us down for the count a week ago and had already started championing the Red Sox as the winner, but somehow we're still in it and they're not. I'm done trying to sift through media reports and decypher the he said she said. All I know is that we're still in it this late in the game, so we must have a pretty good shot at it.
