wish I had that minor league statcast data because I really do think I could give a very accurate scouting assessment on who will do well after studying the numbers for a bit.

Don’t quote me on this, but I think I recently heard on a podcast that Statcast data on minor leaguers will be available beginning in 2023.

There are plenty of top prospects with good minor-league numbers who never panned out.  I remember when Brad Komminsk was supposed to be a can't miss superstar.

But Westburg, Ortiz, Cowser and Norby not only have played well in the minors, they have progressed  quickly through the system and succeeded at every level, often times after an adjustment period.  They've all shown the ability to confront new challenges and to adapt quickly.  I suspect that players with a profile of quick progression are more likely to eventually succeed in the majors.
