Impressive. I do recall him calling a pitch that was completely above the box a strike to Mullins, though. It clearly looked high. I think it was in the 9th.

Iirc Carlson has been one of the better ones I’ve seen all year. Not yesterday, I seem to remember another game he umped us and I thought he was extremely good.

Edit: I stopped being lazy and checked and it looks like this is the first time he has been home plate umpire for us so must’ve been someone else I’m recalling.

Its above the TV generated box, but its pretty close to being at the letters to me

I think we sometimes forget the TV box isn't actually the same strikezone or even the correct strikezone.

That pitch was close enough.  The legal definition is midpoint between top of the shoulders and top of the uniform pants.
