Sunday, April 2: Orioles vs Red Sox

Twice in the last two games, that I’ve seen, the infielder has refused to yield to the outfielder.  That’s basic stuff.  Kirby and Dickerson used to make sure this kinda thing never happened and I really got spoiled by that.

That was on Gunnar.

In a way because it went off his glove. Saying that, when an infielder is camped under it, you don't call him off. That was Vavra's inexperience in LF. Thank God he's out there because there certainly wasn't another roster option with a lot more experience out there.

Baker did a pretty good job there actually. Bloop let in the two runs but nothing else given up in spite of the error.

Eh, wild pitched the guys to scoring position and then couldn't miss a bat. I would not call that a successful bullpen outing. This team seems to be intent on allowing all of their inherited runners to score this year.

Justin Turner steal?! His SB totals in last four seasons of over 100 games played: 2, 2, 3, 3.

What has happened to the defense, in both the OF and INF??!

It wasn’t stolen per se, it was heads up running 2nd to 3rd on a wild pitch that Adley retrieved quickly - but which Urías was forced to catch in front of the bag, swiping behind him, while Turner took an outfield-leaning route to the bag to avoid that tag.

Vavra never saw him went back and watched. Mess anyway you slice it.

Nice detail! Thanks. (I'm just following on Gameday.)

Just curious, why do you think Texas is a better matchup for Irvin? They've scored more runs than Boston so far and they haven't even played today yet.

Better environment overall. Fenway is never a good matchup for a lefty. The Red Sox have some pretty good right-handed hitters too.
