Here are some numbers to put into context. The A’s came into this series averaging less than 3 runs a game. Conversely, this is our 12th game and we have had only 2 quality starts.

What I heard them say is that he hasn't used it a lot in the majors (6%?) but was known for his stellar curveball in the minors.

They were questioning why he had stopped using it as much.
