Are the Orioles Good at Keeping Pitchers Healthy

Drew Rasmussen went on the 60 day DL today. Likely TJ surgery. Someone in Reddit posted the Tommy John surgeries by organization.  Orioles have had the 2nd fewest.  There are some issues with the list but interesting.

Knock on wood, hope you haven't jinxed anything. Our record with pitcher health the last couple years has been pretty incredible. Means is really the only one. No idea if they are doing something right or just lucky. Some have used words like "babying" to describe the development of the young guys but so far it has kept them mostly healthy.

Elias gets a ton of criticism for not letting pitchers go longer in the minors.  Maybe it’s working.

That TJ index was a nice resource - Garrett Crochet's procedure was only 3 weeks ahead of John Means, and Crochet's minor league rehab assignment is in progress now.     Means SP ramp-up probably about a month more than a reliever's, though.

We have a bunch of guys on the shelf right now, mostly in the minors.  Means, Baumler (done with TJ but now other issues), Peak, Brnovich, Young.   Probably some I’m not recalling.

It's been 2 years since a player from my home state of Iowa has had TJ (our very own Baumler).

Eating corn makes UCL's much stronger.  Proven fact.
