Pick one former Oriole at any stage of their career to add to the current team to make us serious WS contenders

For pitchers, Palmer over Mussina and it is not even close. Can't go wrong with Frank Robinson either. As a fan, Boog Powell was my favorite as a young kid. 1970 MVP Boog would be a great upgrade too.

Except it is..peak Moose is right there with peak Palmer.

Maybe, I never really thought of Mussina as a true ACE. Maybe it was because he was on a lot of bad teams. For me, it's not even close. I would still take peak Palmer over Peak Mussina.

Palmer gives you 20 complete games.  Pitching every 5 days, instead of 4, probably gives you 230-240 innings, saving the bullpen.  But, 1966 Frank completely changed the Orioles.  If given one of each (pitcher/position), I'd go Palmer / Robinson over any other combination.

And, Frank would also make the pitching better...simply by demanding that they play better.  🙂

And McGinnity gives you 38 complete games, over 400 innings.  His WHIP was under 1, and he gave up  .2 HR/9!

Did he pitch every other day?  The game has really changed over the last 100 years.  Especially pitching.
