Simple math.....if the pitching was league average, then we'd have the 8th best record, not the 3rd.

I could explain the math but you know.

I've been saying for a couple of weeks that we will pay back to our stats.  My hope is we improve and I believe we won't get better without a better team ERA.

Hicks .231/.661

Substitute Mountcastle for Hicks and it's not much better.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the young guys. But to be fair, context matters. Comparing AAA numbers to MLB numbers is not a 1:1 comparison. What did Hicks, Santander, Urias hit in AAA? My guess is probably better than they are doing against harder competition now. I don’t think it would be realistic to expect Cowser, Westburg and Kjerstad to come up and put up those numbers at the Big League level. And certainly not this year. Look how long that it has taken Gunnar to start to figure it out.
