MLB.com announced first and second teams for all-MLB honors. Oriole reps are Rutschman and Bautista first team, and Bradish second team.

Congrats!

Side note: The article cites Bautista's third all-time K rate, behind '17 Kimbrel and '18 Chapman. Of note, Bautista was age 28, Kimbrel 29, and Chapman 30. So perhaps the best is yet to come (when Felix is 30). Digging deeper to my favorite reliever stat, K/H, here are the eye-popping totals for this trio:

Bautista: 110 K, 30 H, 3.67 K/H
Kimbrel: 126 K, 33 H, 3.82 K/H
Chapman: 93 K, 24 H, 3.88 K/H

Phenomenal seasons indeed. Here they are as K / W + H:

Gull Wing 2017: 2.68

The Mountain 2023: 1.96

AWOLdis 2018: 1.72 (30 walks in 50.1 innings)

Wow, that's even more impressive for Kimbrel to dominate like that. Gotta be an all-time record for that metric.

Is it just me or does MLB have an absurd number of postseason accolades? Feel like I’ve seen the same Os get honored with interchangeable awards two or three times this offseason.

You're correct. The only difference with last night's award show was that Gunnar Henderson was not selected.

They’re trying to keep up with the NFL and NBA being able to stay in front of their fans all year round.

This all MLB team is no different than the NFL All-Pro selections or the All-NBA teams.

I pretty much hate the NBA.   But, obviously a lot of people like it.

I don't like it at all and never watch games.  I've always just marveled at how they promote their players, have grown the league worldwide, appealed to the younger generations, and are always on the cutting edge of branding & marketing their product.  The new mid-season tournament they are doing this year is pure genius.
