Devern Hansack now pitching for the Red Sox.

Anyone remember this guy pitching a 5-inning no-hitter against the O's to finish the '06 season?

Yeah, they waited a long time before calling that game. It got to be about 7PM on that Sunday night and as much an Oriole fan as I am, I just hoped they would call the damn thing nad let him have the no-hitter and put us out of misery after that bad season. And they finally did. I don't know why they waited that long....I can't believe anyone would have wanted to resume that game at 7PM on a cold, rainy October night in Fenway between a contender heading for the play offs and a losing team that just wanted to go home.

Bergesen threw 46 pitches, 29 for strikes. 63% of his pitches were thrown for strikes.

I was really impressed with Bergesen today. He used his change-up early in the count. He used his breaking ball frequently, early and also when behind in the count.

He seems to have confidence in all of his pitches right now and feels comfortable using all of them at any time.

According to Joe Angel, his breaking ball looked very impressive with a sharp late break.
