I hate watching Hays hit. Always have. But he's going to get playing time. And he'll always be streaky with his style of hitting. If he gets hot, they can keep throwing ABs at him. At least when he's cold they can limit his ABs.

Him as the fourth OF is a luxury.

Hays in the lineup is fine with me, it’s not like Santander is hitting and Hays is better with the glove. I’m a little bit more bothered at the incessant push to get Henderson in the lead off spot. He doesn’t really get on base. Put Rutschman there even if he’s slow, or even Westburg or Cowser. Even going back to Mullins vs RHP is a better option than Henderson and his sub-.300 OBP.

Their starter is also due for a good outing. He’s not finishing with a 9 ERA.

I believe the delay is due to managerial discussions to move Santander to 8th in the lineup, where he belongs.
