Brandon Hyde 2024

Recommended Posts

I’m not the biggest Hyde fan lately, but he pulled the right levers today. Yanked O’Hearn for Mounty, left Soto in to face lefties across innings instead of auto managing by putting his closer in the 9th to start it, and trusted the rest in key situations to hit.

I didn't like pulling Perez for Cano when he did. And it almost burned us-- but Gleyber bailed us out.

I’m a big supporter of Brandon Hyde, but the last game against Detroit I think he made a mistake. Second and third, nobody out….I would have had mullins bunt. He’s a good bunter, and with holiday at third I think that’s walk off.

Yes, for years the Orioles did not have a fast team, but now we should utilize the speed we currently have.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of that move. I had to go back and watch the actual hits. Aside from some poor pitch decisions, Perez pitched better than I had originally thought.

That wasn't on Gleyber IMO.  He stopped, but then Soto tried to take an extra bag for some reason and gave Gleyber funny ideas.

Yep I was coming in to say just this. The bullpen moves he made today were fantastic. I was worried he would yank Soto out to start the 9th but he played it perfectly. Great PH decision with Mountcastle. Pitched around Judge, even though he got us once, and made the rest of the Yankees beat us.

Hyde’s comments were poignant. You can tell how stressful things have been for him and the team. The team should really be able to relax now.

To me, it looked like the weight of the world came off his shoulders. The players too. With the team nearly fully healthy now I feel a lot better about them making a run.

it’s amazing how much better a manager looks when he has better players to manage.

I do think they'll be able to relax and possibly play better, but that pressure ramps back up in the playoffs.
