Grayson to IL with shoulder inflammation. Means activated.

Hopefully it’s minor.  Hate hearing shoulder issues.

They had to say something.     This really isn't messing around playing with the Dodgers type moves parking your Lamborghinis intermittently, and hopefully buying time to hoard your assets and/or gain a view who else breaks in the next 15 days.

I will guess MASN Orioles won't be publishing Grayson reaction for us to guess from tone and body language.

If he’s not having an MRI or the MRI was done a no structural damage are the two things I’d like to know.

No chance they don't do an MRI.  Why wouldn't you?

Is Tate coming back?  Bradish and Mrans to rotation.  Suarez to bullpen?

I don't see Tate coming back anytime soon with the bullpen crunch as it is right now. I do imagine Bradish will push Suarez to the bullpen which means someone else has to go. I imagine it will be to DFA Ramirez.

With Grayson on the IL, the rotation should be Burnes, Bradish, Means, Kremer, Irvin (not in that order, just the names) once Bradish is activated.

Hindsight.  Is it unnecessary to speculate who goes when Bradish is reinstated?   How about when Perez came back?  Should we not speculate and just wait until the moves are made?   That’s like saying don’t guess the lineup, it will be listed in 3 hours.

Yes, its unnecessary.  Is it something people like to do?  Yes.  Do I care if they do it?  No.  Is it necessary?  Absolutely not.

About 15 years ago I started a thread suggesting they buy an MRI machine and install it in the trainers room.  I thought they should give them an exam every month or so even if they were feeling nothing wrong.

They all break at one point or other.

#@$%. Maybe Suarez should stay as a starter then. Move means to the BP as a long reliever. Also, having depth is super nice.

Nothing we talk about on here is “necessary”.

That's a good point and hopefully all this is. They need Grayson to be strong in September and October and may just look at this as a perfect opportunity to shut him down for a bit without losing a pitcher due to DFA. I didn't see anything in Grayson's last start to suggest he was hurt, so maybe a little soreness, which probably every pitcher feels after starts, is a good reason to be able to load manage him for the year.

Saying that, he did throw a 163.1 innings last year between Baltimore and Norfolk and was very strong last year into October, where he was too hyped up (sitting 100 MPH) vs worn down.

My thoughts as well. Would make sense that they want to give him a few week break; allows them to kick the roster crunch dilemma down the road for a few weeks and gives the young stud a couple weeks off to protect him for the length of the season. If he's on the IL for more than 15 days, I'll be surprised.

The training room is nowhere big enough to add in an MRI machine. Not to mention all of the logistics involved in maintenance, staff, etc.

If the Orioles or any major league team felt a MRI every month would show potential injuries before they happen, I'd imagine many more would routinely happen. Pain is almost always the first indicator of a problem. The body is set up that way.

Real injury or just trying to keep Ramirez/Baumann around 🤔

Means probably heading to bullpen.

I mentioned his lack of K's in his last start and wondered if he was hurting...I knew it was something...

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.
