Rogers has the options and also a higher ceiling.

Rogers “higher ceiling” feels like an additional half inch in the crawl space type of comparison. I’d have rather kept Stowers, Norby, and Irvin than have Rogers in the organization. 
 

To stay more on topic…I’d have liked to see Irvin kept around. Next year there is a crazy lack of depth for SP. Irvin would’ve been a good 6th SP/long man if he had a good spring.

While I'm not upset to lose him, I'd have rather kept him over a few others currently on the roster.  Not a huge loss granted, but I'd rather have him in the organization instead of keeping Kimbrel around, as well as another one or two.

Now this is one move I think will come back to bite us. Either this year or beyond. Heck, the way this year has gone, it just seems fitting that Irwin will see us in the playoffs and the results will not be pleasant. Good guy - good teammate - good luck to him - but not in the playoffs.

I think he is ineligible for the Twins playoff roster since he was only added to the organization in September:

I kind of feel like he's an Arb2-Arb3 casualty.    The economic analysts are having the clubs bypass the built-in raises.

His class of player maybe experiences the Charile Finley "make them all free agents" unfavorable situation Marvin Miller avoided.

They could've DFA'd Soto. If Baker is still in the org, DFA or release him.

I expect that Smith will go once Coulombe returns, which will hopefully be soon.

Burch Smith is likely gone when Coulombe comes back, but how do you get rid of Irvin first when he has more value. There's no way Kimbrel is back next season and you can't trust him in a crucial spot. I'd rather have seen the team bite the bullet by getting rid of Kimbrel when Coulombe returns while keeping Irvin.

Beating a dead horse but Trevor Rogers is basically a worse version of Irvin and the good thing about Irvin was you didn't have to give up Norby and Stowers for him.

I would agree but this team has so much dead weight on it right now that they are practically interchangeable. All these guys hopefully will be Orioles for only a few more weeks.
