Assuming the O's are the #4 seed, is it already predetermined that they would face NY in the ALDS? Why wouldn't NY, as the #1 seed, play the lowest remaining seed?

CLE is only 1.5 games behind NYY for the #1 seed, so we could potentially play CLE in the ALDS. CLE plays the Reds tonight and then plays the Astros who have already clinched their division.

Heck, we could still be the #1 seed in the AL if we win out and the Yankees and Guardians lose out.

Dream big!

Just looked at 10-day forecast as Helene remnants could be lingering next Tuesday.

FWIW it now says Baltimore 67% precip Tuesday down to 24% Wednesday.

Last year's TEX disaster, some of the memories are still impressionistic here.    I believe weather complicated the game start time of Grayson's first postseason appearance, in which he did not thrive.

Of Possible bigger concern for MLB could be the KC @ ATL series over the weekend. Could push the entire Playoffs back.

They’re not the best team. Not even close. I’d rather face the team that just took two series from us. Odds are we’re gonna win the next one.

Exactly. It was a frustrating two series but we did take two of the games and should have won a third. They beat us 1-0, 4-2, 6-4, and 4-3. It’s not like we weren’t playing them close, they just weren’t hitting.

To state the obvious, the magic number for home field in the WC series is now 1, with 4 games remaining.   Would love to v close that out tomorrow va. the Yankees and then relax all weekend.

And... avoid having the Yankees celebrate an AL East title with the O's having to watch. Make them clinch against the Pirates

Current forecast for Atlanta shows the rain ending by lunchtime Friday, so the 3 games beginning Friday night should hopefully be OK.

The rain hopefully is the only problem, but could be a big mess with debris and possible flooding. Atlanta already has a possible DH with Mets Monday
