Anyone longing for Reynolds is puffing on the ex-Oriole love affair pipe. The guy is a no contact guy thats power seems to be diminishing that plays 1B and we have a 1B.

Yep. He's never been much of a contact guy, but you could see that diminishing even further last year. I don't know how many times I watched him swing and miss at a pitch right down the middle.. The guy has probably crossed over the contact threshold required to be a ML player, even for a slugger.

Yep, I seem to remember him hitting with the bases loaded in game 5 vs Sabathia, getting an absolute meatball right down the middle, and swinging through it. Still, I'd be OK with taking a flyer on him, strictly as a DH against LHP.

EDIT: Well, it almost happened the way I remembered it. He struck out that inning, but only with runners on first and second. The Orioles loaded the bases after he struck out.

I am not convinced we need to take a flyer out on him.

Been there and done it already.

He is a nice guy and I feel for him, and hope he catches on elsewhere, I really think he is done for.

Thank you Captain Obvious. We do play in the AL, where they have something called the DH. And if you hadn't noticed, we don't really have a solution there.

I wouldn't want to give him the AB on the off chance he busts out. I'd feel better with Pearce in there.

By most accounts of other players, coaches, and others involved in the game. Mark Reynolds is well liked.

Buck was asked about Mark last year after the season.

He said then, Mark was a great guy, great teammate and somebody he was glad to have on his team, he got along with the others, and the only problem he saw was the $$$$$ he was due next year, but he was leaving all that up to DD.

Would you take this guy instead of Reynolds if he was available?

If the price was right I might be interested. Except Ibanez is a lefty hitter, doesn't match the RH bat that Reynolds is.
