Tilman said his arm was not bothering him but felt little rusty and didn't have command. So hopefully he feels ok tomorrow and can get back to where he was.

I believe him. I think Buck trusts him to tell the truth. The post game quotes from both were very straightforward on this.

And I stated that in the nightly panic post.. It was obvious his shoulder or arm wasn't hurting but rather missing a start and mental. Tilly pitches 7ip 2 ER or less next start.. book it.

It's *possible* that it's all rust. But isn't it also possible that he is hurt but trying to bulldog his way through? A la O'Day? Players do it all the time. Hardy did it. And then at the end of the year they say they've been dealing with injuries the entire team.

Players don't like to not play.

It depends. Fred Lynn for instance was infamous for not wanting to play if he wasn't at 100%. Bedard is an easy example of a pitcher that wasn't interested in pushing himself past what he though was a safe level.

Buck said today that Tillman won't be ready on September 10th.Looks like he may be getting few starts or shut down.

I think they are just proceeding cautiously. Yesterday, Buck said that Tillman had a very good session on flat ground, and he would do that one more time on Wednesday and if that went well he would progress to pitching off a mound.
