Perhaps not directly related, but didn't seem worthy of a thread starter ... does Gunnar do the HR derby at the AS game and does that still bother people? -
What part of we still won by 8 runs did you not understand? It worked out fine. I doubt that he'll be here long, but taking a flyer and giving the guy some run in a blowout was harmless. -
To see if he could get his act together and throw some strikes. Why not, the risk to the game was minimal. And *if* he could go an inning that's an inning less that a more valuable reliever who might be needed in the next few days, which would be a good thing. If he had been able to pitch the entire inning, and gave up 4 runs -- he actually would have HELPED the team because another reliever would have been able to rest and be available tomorrow or Wednesday. And our chance of winning the game would have decreased from 99.9% to 99.6%. It was a completely safe place to pitch him. -
Tankathon has the O's with the 10th hardest remaining schedule. Doesn't say anything about the opponents they already played. MLB Remaining Schedule Strength | Tankathon -
I find that comment preposterous. The guy’s “track record” consists of 51 innings spread out over 5 years with a 3-year stint in Japan in between. Giving a guy with a live arm like that a couple of chances at the last spot in the bullpen is hardly “irresponsible,” whether or not it works out. -

This guy throws hard hit doesn’t get a lot of Ks and doesn’t miss bats and he’s 31. There is little hope for him to become anything but of they can store him in AAA and try to work with him down there, that’s fine. He wouldn’t be the first out of nowhere guy to become a good reliever but it’s not something we should expect. -
So you genialized the board over one poster vs addressing that poster?
