Looking back it is hard to argue with Cal here. Tremendous talent but sometimes I see him out there and he looks like a little kid playing with adults. Give him most of the summer and see where he is in August. And I still think his leg kick is more of a detriment than a help. I went back and looked at his minor league highlights from last year and he had zero leg kick. In fact his right foot never really left the ground other than raising it up its toe a little. Why they decided to do the high step is a mystery to me. -
Fans like winning more than the name on the back of the jersey. -

Sounded reasonable — I don’t know if JH was sweating outside expectations — maybe his own expectations, but he was swinging at more bad pitches and pushing too hard. -
“Our long national nightmare is over.” On to the next one! Baumann will be claimed by the white Sox or Rockies…but while with a terrible team, he’ll get a WS ring when we win. Hows that for Schadenfreude? -

I of course was in the majors at 20, it wasn't too young for me, you understand, but Jackson.... I'm not in favor of a junior member of the ownership group questioning the FO publicly. It isn't as if he called them to the floor of course but still, I don't think it's appropriate. -

The Orioles ae trying to win a World Series and I guess they've finally decided that they are not going burn an option on a better pitcher just not to lose their 8th best reliever. Baumann is such an inconsistent pitcher, but I don't think there is any chance he makes it through waivers. Saying that, it's the evolution of a winning team that you have to start "sacrificing" serviceable, but inconsistent pitchers/players to move forward. If Baumann may have a good year in him somewhere, but he's just so inconsistent I don't know how anyone can use up consistently in anything other than a mop up role.
