I don’t know how much control Hyde has over his personnel, so I give him a pass on his 26 man roster. But his use of the roster is bad, objectively bad. I know he doesn’t do things without a logic behind them, but his logic is weak. Continue playing weak players when there are perfectly able guys on the bench who could play instead. There’s no excuse to play Urias. That means the roster spot is wasted, but the point remains valid that there’s no reason to play him absent injury. Why play Cowser/Mullins, when each is going through a bad patch and needs to sit for a game? Ned Yost was a terrible manager but had a terrific Royals team. Hyde is not a good manager. And, Toronto's two runs came on a 2-out hit that bounced out of the tip of Santander's glove after a bad route. If he takes one step differently or the ball takes a slightly different arc, that might be a catch, and conceivably a 1-0 victory. You're right that narrow margins were all over the game today. -

We just need to be able to manufacture runs based on game situation going forward. We’re young, and need to be able to use our speed in close games. -

All in all a decent start today considering the opponent and he had no ST. Honestly, I can’t believe we have him back. We’re taking this rotation for granted right now. Burnes, Bradish, Grayson, Irvin, Kremer/Means Probably top 5 in MLB -
