Well, people do have a right to privacy in personal matters and some of the medical information could be for HIPAA regulations.  It could just be Elias' way of running the organization.

The NFL lists every injury of every player each week and their status for that week's games. There's no reason not to let the fans know what is going on with their team.

Get over it.   I don’t need every detail about the personal lives of our AA players.    If they’re on the injured list, let me know.

All the NHL teams ever say is that an injury is “upper body” or “lower body.”

THE NFL does that because of the betting aspect.to the game.

Get over it? That's kind of rude, especially for a place for opinions.

No one said they wanted every. detail of an AA player's lives, just basic information like an injury or personal leave. There is no reason to keep fans in the dark on basic information and it's especially bad when newspaper reporters aren't providing information, like in the case of Sedlock a little earlier.

There is also gambling in baseball.

I think announcing this would be not transparent but over the top. Answering truthfully when asked is in line. He is a minor leaguer. How many times does the organization make birth and marriage announcement for minor leaguers?

Not a fan of that anyway.

Does Diaz have the ability to play CF? With no ML CF on the active roster and Mullins and McKenna having terrible years, there doesn't seem to be an answer at that position. Plus there seems to be a logjam of corner OF-types in this organization. If Diaz can play CF at a competent level, it would resolve the OF issues on this team.

What is the logic for making everything such a secret? If the Orioles' organization is so much more advanced now, you'd think they would have a little more transparency for the fans they are asking to stick with them through rebuilding.

The Orioles aren’t in danger of losing any fan who is tracking the day to day lineup of the AA squad.

I don't believe the Orioles have a prototypical CF of the future in our system unless McKenna or Mullins learn to hit much better. Hays is probably the best suited CF coming from our list of hitters, but that's far from ideal.

Probably not, but it's not national security and has nothing to do with HIPPA when the information comes from the clubs/organization or newspapers/TV/Web sites. Even if it's just listed as a "personal issue" it would let everyone know it's not an injury.

Doesn't putting him on the "Temporary Inactive List" imply it's not injury related?
