Well it did. And we can rejoice. Be they bad overpaid 16 year olds or not. We are just buying them.

4.9 of 6.4 mill spent is the big news to me.  These guys are so young but hopefully develop well.  It's really nice to get an idea of what they are spending/ building.

As I understand it, when the new period starts any money saved from this period Goes away. So if we don’t sign anybody between now and then that remaining million dollars or so just goes away but then it resets and we get the full amount back but only the full amount right?

This is essentially correct. I don't think the amount is necessarily the same year to year, so I wouldn't call it reset. But we cannot use any unused amount of this year's allotment and we do receive a new allotment. 

 

I believe the date is July 2 (which you may see referenced as "J2").

But from reading what Elias has said we won’t be getting any top 50 guys next signing period either as those guys already have deals worked out with other clubs.

Those were only the ones that were hiding hurt. Top money brings top FAs. A Poor investment in most cases.

This is my thinking. I’m happy we spent all but 1.5 million of our budget. 

We just can’t ignore 1/2 the talent grab anymore. This is how to rebuild.

We’re there any from 2013-2016?  Not given you a hard time, just don’t remember any.  I think sucking is why most people don’t want to play for the Orioles.

The 2013-2016 Orioles were not an attractive landing spot for free agent pitching or Dexter Fowler.
