The more Davis goes oppo, the more I like it.  In his best years he did it a lot; in his worst he tried to pull everything--right into the shift.

I agree. I don't think he had the strength to hit one out oppo last year, so it is good to see he is able to do it.

I'm unclear on how full-go these BP pitchers are. Looks like Cobb struck out Mancini in another video Roch posted, but like, is Zimmermann out here "throwing BP" or is he trying to get it by Davis?

I’d guess that by today they’re being pretty competitive.    They used to have 1-2 intrasquad games right before the ST games started.   They don’t seem to be doing that this year but I’d still assume the pitchers are at full go, more or less.

Thanks, yeah that makes sense. It feels like the "training" part of spring training is shorter this year, but I'm not sure if that's just me.

Loooooong interview of Davis in Roch’s blig today.    A little bit of everything in there.   https://www.masnsports.com/school-of-roch/2020/02/chris-davis-i-feel-alive-right-now.html

I may be in the minority but I am rooting for the guy. It is obvious he has some issues with the mental part of the game and is trying to overcome them.  It isn’t all mental, obviously but the effort seems to be there.  The mental thing also might explain the dust up with Palmer last year. This guy was in an emotional hole and hiding.

While many will spend the better part of the day digging into every Davis quote hoping to find a  tiny glimmer of hope, I can't get past the following line which appears to have been birthed from the mouth of James Patterson's ghost writer's third cousin removed on his father's side. Or perhaps stolen from the cutting room floor of Michael Scott's screenplay for "Threat Level Midnight".

"The red T-shirt that Davis slipped on after yesterday’s workout clung to him like a needy friend. His arms appeared to be plotting a jail break."
