The second guessing Hyde thread.

That game legit looked like a 9U fall scrimmage with the coach being mandated to play everyone on the team.

Because there's no one that could have hit that pitch that Hicks swung at.  IIRC, the reason coaches told you back in the day to swing no matter what was to distract the catcher.  

But that's back when you were a kid.  No way Jonah Heim cares if Hicks swung at that ball or not, Gunnar was getting thrown out no matter what.

If only Kjerstad would have gotten the chance to tie it on the 27th out!     If James McCann has to play shortstop in the top of the 10th, so be it.

If he goes oppo with it he can. Pitch was similar to one Frazier got a hit on vs TB.

I can't say that Hyde cost us the game, but his in game decisions sure didn't help.

These are the types of moves made during the year. Hate that they lost. But on the plus side most everyone got a taste of action today. Tip you cap and go get em tomorrow.

The problem was in the 8th inning.  1st and 2nd no out.  We should have stolen the bases with Chapman and his really slow delivery.  Or maybe you bunt to move the runners up and hope for the sac fly.  To hit away in that scenario is the wrong call.  You have to play small ball to try to tie it up with a dominant closer coming in, in the 9th.

And to not pinch run Mateo for Hicks in the seventh inning, only to put him in the game defensively in the eighth inning was weird. Aaron hicks is not Willie Mays out there. Give me a break.

If the Os don't advance I'll find the biggest armchair to sit on and criticise the Frazier PH. Westburg never had a platoon issue in the minors, in fact torched righties, just cranked a ball 106mph his previous at bat and is better defensively.  Dunning was no one to be worried about platoon wise.

funny how baseball can permit one decision to keep looming over you all game. And of course that left no room for Kjedstad to PH on the 9th.

You swing because it’s not a steal.  If you  don’t make contact, the runner gets thrown out…

I bet their moms are on the phone with Hyder as we speak.  They’ll be 1,2 in the lineup tomorrow for sure lol
