A lot of good write ups here I thought. Goes to Comp round too. After reading this, not sure why you would even consider Jace Jung 1-7 or so. https://jacksondels.medium.com/2022-mlb-mock-draft-v1-555a41e8a484

And everyone knows my opinion on underslot😂😂😂 but why not Dylan Lesko if you must do that?

Also has us taking Jud Fabian in later round!

That would be ideal. I’d imagine Fabian would sign for less than the $3 million we were willing to offer him last year. I’d view Fabian as a direct replacement for Stowers in our system.

Our post draft top 10 would look like,

1. GR

2. Gunnar

3. Druw Jones

4. Hall

5. Westburg

6. Stowers

7. Cowser

8. Kjerstad

9. Mayo

10. Fabian

That’s a darn good top 10 and probably still good enough for #1 overall in MLB.

Just curious why you guys are so high on Fabian?  Dude strikes out a lot. Hit .249 in 21 and .239 in 22.  I suppose he's very talented but sounds very risky too.

Yea I agree.  I would prefer they take a shot at a high upside HS prospect or one of the pitchers who were injured in 2022.

I believe some of Fabian's darling-dom is he kind of skipped 12th grade or something and profiles well in age-based models.   But I think he exchanged the demographic advantage saying No Thanks to the Red Sox last year, and now is the rare "real prospect" with FOUR seasons of SEC data.

The low batting average and lots of SEC tools remind me somewhat of John Rhodes last year, or even Jordan Westburg previously.

This mock had them taking Owen Miller a HS RHP at 33.  That's a risky high upside pick. I don't see it but who knows.

Yes, but Rhodes had an outstanding freshman year and Westburg was great on the Cape and his average wasn't in that territory.  Fabian might be good but two years of sub .250 in college is scary.

This also states we are scouting Jones & Holiday heavy, which is very promising, like the pedigree and think that matters a lot. https://www.prospectslive.com/prospects-live/2022-mlb-mock-draft-n78w7-st9r4

This mock left out Dylan Lesko assuming he'll hold out for a higher slot and go to Vanderbilt.  If he falls to the comp round, he's the guy, then go under-slot in later picks and throw some money his way.  (It would be so LOLMets if they took Lesko and couldn't sign him too!)  Lots of interesting arms in the 32-50 range as well.  And some recent draft darlng/helium guys (Wagner/Jones) at 52/53.

Agreed on the preference for an arm at 1.33 and 2.42 pick over Fabian - at least from the crew that mock still has on the board.  BPA/not drafting for need/etc/etc, but tie-breaker in the same tier of player goes to the SP for me.

Interesting comment/hedge(?) in the 1.1 write-up:  Sig Mejdal purportedly loves the skillset Lee brings to the field.

And there's a comment on what I assumed about Kumar as well (and ever moreso after his second outing):

Rocker is surging up draft boards once again after an overwhelmingly positive first appearance for Try-City this past weekend.

SIAP, but I found Elijah Green's senior stats on MaxPreps

25 G

.462/.592/1.000 for a 1.592 OPS

103 PA

78 AB

40 R

36 H

32 RBI

11 2B

2 3B

9 HR

21 BB

21 K

15 SB

How accurate these are, I'm not sure, but since they're a national team I would guess they're fairly accurate. I think Green or Jones have to the be the pick, based on upside alone. I guess you could make a case for Holliday, but I'll be disappointed if they go underslot when these top tier talents are on the board.

This is another reason why I think Elias will go BPA at #1.  He wants to maintain his high farm ranking.  If he chooses Berry and he is only the O's 7th best prospect and not a top 100 prospect, how much does the O's farm ranking drop after losing Adley?  I'm hoping for Druw, but I can see arguments for selecting Green and Termarr.
