With just a runner on third, you should go on contact with 1 out but not 0. But with the runner on 2nd too and just needing one run, he should've definitely gone on contact with 0 outs. Something went wrong on the coaches end there probably.

Both scenarios were in play in the same at bat.

Once the runner takes second, the third base coach has to call that change out.

Ok, I'm back. Checked the score, but from reading comments, looks like the Orioles screwed up on winning the game. They had a guy on 3rd with no outs and couldn't get him home!? Are you serious!? This organization just loves to lose any way they can.

Also, let me go on record again for saying that I HATE the guy on second in extra innings. If you're going to put a guy on, put him on first.

Joint coach and player brain fart.  Scenario changed during the at bat to "runner on third goes on ground ball contact" and neither McKenna or the third base coach recognized it.
