Lol, everyone wants to be first.

When Beane swings a trade, it makes me wonder why he wanted the player he got back.  I'm now thinking more of Hernaiz than I ever did before.

Irvin looks decent, wondering if he's coming in for a rotation spot or a long man.

Beane moved into a senior advisor role in November 2022.

Looks like a league average lefty who can put up 180 innings a year. Not a bad piece to have, probably for the right price, but not the TOR guy everyone of course wants.

I like the four years of team control and ability to eat innings. Looks like he may have benefited from pitching in Oakland with a .451 xSLG vs an actual of .416; hopefully that carries over to Baltimore as well.

I'd say he's a tick below average.  Not the worst piece to add.

Looking for positives:   360 innings the past two, both with 4.2 FIP.   That's kind of a floor for a #4/#5 starter.   Lefthanded, which is nice to have at OPACY.

Hopefully he can be a swing man who only starts if younger options are hurt or not performing.   If they are pencilling him AND Gibson into rotation spots at the expense of guys like DL Hall or Wells, that would be no bueno.

I think that sums it up well.
