I just googled--Gunnar and Holliday are Boras clients.  I couldn't determine who Adley's agent is from my google search, but I guess that means it's not Boras.

I would not be shocked to find that Adley's father/grandfather were handling things.

So if he gets the club option, that means they got him for 3 extra years, although maybe you could say 4 or even 5 years since they may have looked to trade him closer to free agency to make sure he doesn’t walk for nothing and that alone is perhaps the biggest reason you sign these guys.

My fear is we’re headed more towards the Tampa Bay Rays model and we’ll see Adley traded before free agency instead of an early extension.

I hope to be proven wrong on this take.

Tampa keeps the guys they want to. Not sure why people push on that narrative that is completely false.

The Pirates model clearly hasn't worked, so I don't see why or how Elias or Orioles ownership would try to emulate the Pirates.

If you mean that the Orioles will inadvertently wind up with the Pirates model, I trust enough in Elias to convince ownership that his vision for handling "homegrown" players is the best way to proceed, whatever that may entail.
