I guess maybe it seems new to me.. because I go away for a few weeks.. and things have changed.

Frazier actually had some surprisingly good weeks.

Good enough that Frobby was justifiably able to publicly flog me for calling Frazier a replacement level journeyman.

Then a month went by... and Frazier was looking more like end-phase Chris Davis.

So I jumped right in gave that Frobby guy a piece of my mind... how dare he think that Frazier wasn't a replacement level journeyman... blah blah blah.

Hell.. it even got a little heated... But he's a great guy... and I'm not a horrible guy... so we're back to being decent to one another... and talking about this and other things..

It's a baseball forum. And honestly as relatively tame one. You want to see a freak show.... go to an NFL forum.

Yeah I guess for me it’s just been the same arguments over and over again and nothing has really changed. Frazier’s play is going to be up and down just like any player. It’s just gotten a little annoying to see this much vitriol for a player who isn’t going anywhere this season and has won games for us with hits in big situations.  He isn’t anything spectacular, but he’s not as bad as he’s made out to be. Like everyone else, I’d love to see Westburg starting, but Frazier has a history of hitting in big situations, so I don’t mind having him on the team. He’s a pretty ideal guy to be a versatile left handed bat off the bench.

Yeah, he had a hot streak and it was fun.  He's had some key hits and moments along the way.  He's flashed more power.

It's very fair to think that he finishes the season as the guy we all thought he'd be.  And I'm in no way saying that I think he should still be the starter....I'm just saying, he hasn't been as bad as I thought he'd be.

I'm ok with keeping Frazier as a bench player and part time starter, but it's time to end the experiment of Frazier starting every game. Frazier now has a .484 OPS in the last 28 days.

The Orioles can't keep running out two offensive black holes at 2B and SS and expect to keep pace in the wildcard chase this summer.

Are we really the only guys in the conversation that know what 4chan is?

No.

Frobby I believe.

Anyone that's been on the internet for any period of time should at least be familiar with the term, even if they (like myself) don't actually visit it.

Not like a I'm a regular anon or anything... but I've looked under enough rocks and moldy branches on the web to know what it is.

Yep, but 8 million says otherwise, unfortunately.

So you think that Elias is smart enough to acquired all these prospects but not smart enough to manage them.   Kind of weird thinking.

And the boohooing about the fans is also weird.   They are currently suffering through watching the O's winning at the 100 win pace.

What I think will happen is that this off season Santander will be traded for pitching prospects opening at spot for Cowser.   Frazier will be going opening a spot for Westburg.

Stowers probably gets traded for pitching because there is not a spot for him and he will be 26 next season.

I think around 9 or 10 changes will happen by opening day next spring and that will take care of  most of the backlog in the system.  Elias probably wants some backlog at AAA in case of injuries.

Elias has done a first class job of building the Orioles organization top to bottom, but given the way Stowers and now Ortiz have been handled at the ML level, I think a couple of questions about Elias' player management choices are warranted.

My prediction is that Mountcastle is gone and Santander kept as DH and occasional 1B when Kjerstad needs a day off.

It will be interesting to see how much of our ML-ready minor league talent will still be around on opening day and that will largely rest on whether Elias has surrendered to the impulse to add just a couple of more veterans with "off-the-chart instincts".  I'm already prepared to see fewer of our prospects than I want and more Frazier equivalents.

No way you don't know what 4Chan is.

Or is no longer the cool place for the 13 year olds?

The internet is vast. Do I have to explain this to you like you are 5? I visit the Washington Post, New York Times, Orioles team website, this website, pornhub, grubhub, Google. That's where I personally go. Can't speak for where others go.
