Tigers blow 2run lead in 9th to Jays who then win it 4-3 in 10th

 

If MFYs lose to Cubs as they are now in 8th .. then Jays will be in 3rd at break 

Rays pounded  Braves 10-4

Gibson did exactly what we needed.  7 solid innings. Great start for him.   We enter the gauntlet after the break healthy and well-rested.

So weird to go into the allstar break dominating.  And we have draft night tonight.  At least two guys we pick in the first four are going to be stars.  It is what Elias does.  Dominate the draft board.

I think it's interesting that Hyde kept Gibson in for 7 whole innings (94 pitches) despite (a) the lopsided score and (b) Gibson's long waits as the Orioles pummeled the Twins' pitching.

Could have given some of the middle relievers with shakier status innings, but chose not to. I wonder why, esp. with the ASB coming next.

I think he had a relatively stress-free outing so he left him in there.
