This is kind of a minor dumb detail, but I noticed Jarren Duran looking at his matchup cheat sheet with disgust after Kyle Stowers hit a double over his head.  My headcanon is saying that Duran was thinking, "Who the hell wrote on here that I should play Stowers shallow because he doesn't have power to this side of the field??"

He was playing kind of shallow, but he also got a horrendous jump on that hit.  Statcast rated that a 90% probability catch.  And then on the next play Duran kicked around Mullins’ gapper until he’d played a double into a triple.  Not a stellar showing from Duran.

Duran likes doing Mullins favors.

Duran's got +5 OAA on statcast so it's a little surprising to watch for sure.

Maybe he just forgot how deep that fence is in left?   It certainly plays completely differently than Fenway out there.

Put down the crack pipe.  Hitting lots of HR in minors doesn't equal best mlb player.  I could see Stowers being about like Trumbo.  Lots of Ks and HR.

He's totally better than any player not on the Orioles, Dodgers, Yankees, Astros or Royals.

I really like Stowers and reminds me a lot of Steve Finley.

But my god that is a terrible tweet.

I’m assuming it’s intentionally stupid, given the name of the poster.

I've looked at his other comments and there are some scathing hot takes, but he was looking right for one afternoon.

Trumbo good comp for Stowers yea or nay.

Nay. They have some similarities in that power is their biggest asset. However, Stowers is not afraid to dive or crash into the wall, will have a higher walk rate, and is left handed. I think he is a more well rounded player. Remains to be seen if he has any 40+ HR seasons in him.
