I think when you reach about 20 pitches in the first inning, you might also try to see if you can get someone out.

Do you think a 39 pitch 5-run first inning got him the feel of competition again?   Plus, throwing 39 pitches is a good way to aggravate your injury or start a new one.

We didn't bring Means back until he had a good rehab start.  Let Kremer work the rust off in Norfolk.

Yes, he'll probably need at least one more start. Was this supposed to be his final/only one?
