Johnson is untouchable? O's refused to talk trade with several teams

From Britt's article today:

Relievers Koji Uehara and Jim Johnson are both having excellent seasons in the later innings, but Uehara has drawn tepid interest given his age and injury-prone status. Johnson has established himself as one of the best setup men in the American League, and the organization -- which has told several teams it's unwilling to discuss offers for the reliever -- continues to have internal discussions about moving Johnson into a starting role next season.

And it sounds like we are in the market for pitching.

This team is run by a bunch of morons.

To have JJ as essentially untouchable shows just how out of touch with reality they are.

This whole article is a joke(not a joke because of Britt but because of the Orioles).

The worst part is, we all can see this coming. What a horrible, moronic organization we all root for.

Yup...almost seems as if they value bullpen arms equivalent to any position...which is mind-boggling.

MacPhail's quotes seem to be pitching the idea that we're open to both buying and selling, but that's basically the same thing he said last year. In the end, we all know he will do neither.

They should be buying and selling but they sure as hell won't pull it off.

Its the same AM bs speak. He thinks he is running the CIA and everything has to be a secret. So awful.

Wow. A setup guy who will be 29 next year with 4 full ML service years under his belt is going to be tried out as a starter next season. We believe so much in his ability to be effective as a starter (though he wasn't as effective as a starter in his past) that he's untouchable.

What are we doing here............

I knew you were gonna post on this thread and you have not disappointed. Agreed 100%.

We're doomed this trade deadline.

This is just the beginning.

MacPhail: "We can't trade Guts because there is no one left to eat innings."

"We think Vlad will turn it around in the second half and fetch us extra draft picks."

"We are not open to trading Lee, and we are open to negotiations for extending his contract. His defense is helping our infielders too much to lose it."

Etc etc etc
