It might be me, but it seams that most of the clubs are signing about all of their arb players prior to going to the hearing.

Its like they all are afraid of losing and paying more money.

That happens every year. Almost all players and teams settle before going to a hearing.

Arbitration hearings are a miserable experience for all involved. Basically the player has to sit in a room and listen to the team talk about his flaws and why he shouldn't get the contract he's asking for.

I give you that its a miserable experience, I guess I am paying more attention this year.

This from a guy who calls 14 years, a "few years?" :D

They missed Patton by $275K but got Hunter exactly right.

In the scale of the orioles 14 years is a few years. But those 300ks differences add up. You miss by 300k on 5 players that's $1.5 miss on projections.
