For a lot you, you don't no me to well since Im new to the forum but i am a huge Jonathan Schoop fan. He's my favorite Orioles player. Schoop had a decent rookie season last year and looked like he had 2B locked up for many many years to come. But with the signing of Everth Cabrera and knowing he will play more 2B then SS, it makes me wonder if Schoop will be in Triple-A this year.

Schoop shows the power and glove but Carbrera has been an all-star and has killer wheels and a great glove as well. So if your mind who gets the start? And who has a better year?

Schoop won a job with the big club last spring when nobody was expecting him to do so. How he plays this spring will have a lot to do with the answer to your poll question.

thank you for the reply. I just wanted to see what everyone thought. I do know alot of people are fans of Flaherty also

Voted for Cabrera. Keep Schoop's service time down and send him a message that he needs to work on plate discipline to play his way to the big leagues. My best guess is that Cabrera will bring plus defense at 2B. If Cabrera is hitting to his career norms, he also fills the leadoff spot which is a team need. That said, based on 2014, if Cabrera has a poor spring I would be fine with Schoop or possibly even considering Navarro (if he is still around).

Between being able to get Schoop some much needed time at AAA so he can hit at least .250 in the majors and the fact that every other starter outside of DeAza and Machado are "sluggers" for their position I say Cabrera. This team needs guys that can move a runner without a HR and I'm not sure how often everyone else will do that but certainly not Schoop.

There's no way Schoop doesn't win this job. The Orioles are going to completely commit to him this year.

The Orioles committed to Schoop completely last year. If he bats as poorly this year as he did last year I think he will be sent down to the minors.

I also chose Cabrera, btw

The Orioles just made their largest investment this offseason on Cabrera.

You can't honestly say they are 100% committed to Schoop. IMO I am not saying Schoop is just handed the job, but now he might have some pressure on his back in ST.

I see second base as a potential merry-go-round, driven sometimes by performance, sometimes by injury. It'll be very interesting to see if anyone can solidify himself there and stay healthy. I root for Schoop, just because he's ours. But if Everth can come in and dominate... bring him on. I do like our infield depth this year. It seems like Dan's wanting to make sure Flaherty isn't in line to get quite so much time this year.
