Clevenger walked away and didn't argue the call on the 3-2 pitch.

Much like Greg Zaun walked away and didn't argue a borderline pitch in 2009 when he was batting, because he was the catcher, and his pitcher (Brad Bergesen) was in the midst of throwing 8 innings of 1-run ball against the Red Sox.

Catchers generally argue a little less, because they need the umpire more than just when they are batting.

Good memory! Heck I barely remembered Greg Zaun played for the Os.
I'll never forget it, because the Orioles had just made an historic comeback the night before, when they came back from being down by a score of 10-1 to win, 11-10.

And then, Brad Bergesen followed it up by throwing 8 innings of 1-run ball the very next game, and exited the game with a 5-1 lead.

The Orioles' bullpen allowed the Red Sox to score 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning to tie it, and eventually won the game in the 13th.

That was also the same game when the umpire called Felix Pie out at 2nd base when the Red Sox defender tagged him with his mitt ...... but had the ball in his other hand. There was challenge/replay back then, so Dave Trembley and the Orioles were screwed.

Was that the Mothers Day Massacre?

No, it wasn't.

That was a different game, and a different year (2007.)
