Easy run on a single.

It's a bad idea in a 2 run game. Especially on a night when the ball is flying out of the park, and you have a guy with some pop at the plate.

That run (essentially) would not have counted, though.

The only advantage I can think of is that it takes a force play off, and therefore makes a slow roller and/or a tough grounder a more difficult out to get.
