Would you trade Gausman for Freeman?

You must be hearing something.

I'd think real long and hard about making that trade.

I think Freeman's likely to be the more valuable player over the course of his contract vs. Guasman's controlled years.

Of course he'll make a lot more money.

And it would necessitate the O's spend even more money on the pitching staff.

But that's a real interesting thought.

Instead of player A, would you prefer to trade Kevin Gausman for player B?

To make it easy, I bolded HRs and OBP.

I need to know more than just stats.

Age and contract status being extremely important.

Same Age. Same contract. A just contract. B Contract and Gausman.

Well then is there any mystery?

If Freddie Freeman continues his career to be as good as Kevin Millar and we get to keep him at a very reasonable contract through age 35 that's what we would get. Really. It's a guy you can find. Unlike Chris Davis. Freddie Freeman is not messianic. He's Kevin Millar.

Once again, you show a complete detachment from reality.

Now that I actually look at the OPS+, it's not particularly close. You know why? Because Millar played in some of the best offensive environments in history; Freeman in a much, much lower run environment.

Freeman's also entering his prime. His numbers could very well be better the next 5 years than they ahve been the past.

Sorry that the similarities of the players escape you.

The only thing escaping here is reality from your grasp.

Kevin Millar made his ML debut at an older age than Freeman is now.

In the entirety of his ML career, 12 seasons, he was worth 14 WAR.

Freddie Freeman through his age 25 season has been worth over 15.

To say they put up a similar slash line, they're the same, is the shallowest of evaluations, w no grounding in reality. But what's to be expected?

Now, w all that said, if the O's could snap their fingers and produce a Millar for free this offseason, they should most certainly do that. But it's not that easy.
