I predicted then and say again now that there will be no fall off in years 3 or 4 either. Last year was when we really needed him...this year we replaced him and more with Trumbo. But I think Cruz will be Ortiz part 2 in terms of late career production as a DH.

You know, I think you were and are right. I just did not want to think of him as a continuing user like Ortiz. I grew fond of him and though he had stopped. Silly me.

I thought that he stumbled after putting on the brakes, and deciding to go back to 1st base ...... as opposed to stumbling after touching 1st base.

There's another replay that shows him stumbling as he rounds the bag.

Thorne just said clearly that Manny didn't run out of the box because he thought it would be a homer. Both Thorne and Palmer are saying it, so obviously he didn't run hard out of the box.

Manny stumbled which got him thrown out at first, but he paused coming out of the box which made him have to turn around, causing the stumble. If he hustles all the way he is on second base.
