Liz's last six outs:

1) Got behind Wilkerson, overmatched him with a fastball, pop out foul

2) Scutaro crushed a line drive right at Luke Scott on a breaking ball

3) McDonald grounds out on a ball that was probably low

4) Rios hits the first pitch to the deepest part of the park and Jones catches it on the track.

5) Stairs strikes out on a 3-2 change up that was ball four, but he was guessing fastball.

6) Rolen crushes a line drive right at the centerfielder.

Saying he was cruising with seven outs in a row just isn't an accurate description of what was going on. It was a good move to pull him. It just didn't work.

Thanks for the extended analysis. It wasn't a bad decision, I just don't think it was the best one. I mean, would you pull Guthrie in the same circumstances? Yes, Guts has a longer history and has been more consistent. Pitchers are going to give up hard outs. I just thought it was overly cautious to yank him that early, the kidgloves are on because they're fearful he'll implode.
