What the hell was the Red Sox baserunner thinking? His butt should have been glued to first base with a three-run deficit. Getting picked off in that situation is inexcusable.

He most have been cross contaminated by the Orioles, because that was really dumb.

Glad he got his ERA under 5. Congrats Wojo!

He pitched some very good games this year. Hope he can put it all together in 2020.

I have only read Solaris...I remember it was a disintegrating paperback and I couldn’t tell if I was missing pages or not.

I read the Cyberiad, and it was fascinating, and pretty funny. Almost made me want to learn Polish so I could get the true flavor.

In a Half-Priced Books in College Station, Texas many moons ago, I found a perfect condition copy of the second edition of a book called “The Lute & Mandolin,” an encyclopedia of composers and music for the two instruments. The first edition was around 1914, the second edition was about 1947, and this second edition was signed by the author! And it was one of lovely those ornate books with a gold leaf embossing of a lute and mandolin on the red leather binding. I was delighted to buy it for about $4, and sell it for many times that, after reading the section on Boccherini( I’m a big fan) so I understand CoC’s enthusiasm.
