I'd definitely go after all the free agents who are young, cheap, and good.  So... nobody?  We need the list of six-year minor league free agents.

I'll admit part of me wants to bring back Mark Reynolds for a run at Reggie's Record.  But the Orioles already have like six guys to fill the so-so DH slot, and none of them are 37 and legally blind.

The only guy who is really interesting to me and might be cheap enough is Michael Wacha for a relief conversion. He's relatively young, still has solid stuff, has a high 3/4 release that Elias and crew like to work with and has a very good changeup that he could use more extensively in a relief role.

I think we're a year away from the free agent list, but next offseason would be the one where it may be interesting to see if the Orioles agree some kind of Jayson Werth/Eric Hosmer type penance is a necessary first step towards recruiting one of the truly elite free agents two years from now.  For sure my hopes for a good 2022 team involve a 1-2 punch of Rutschman and someone with MVP potential who decides the 2022-2026 Orioles are worthy of spending prime years with.

Hopefully nothing so 8-years destructive as those original examples, but 2-3 years for Justin Turner, Andrelton Simmons (he'll get longer), Robbie Ray, Marcus Stroman, etc

I would rule out almost every position player in free agency. We probably sign one or two infielders on minor league deals to come in and compete in ST.

There could be some interesting value late in the winter on the pitching side, though. We could definitely use a starter just to eat some innings. Another Karns/Straily pickup except maybe this time it's for a guy who is a little bit safer bet. Won't have Trumbo on the roster so I bet there's a little more money to work with.

I wouldn't hate a reunion with 40 year old Rich Hill. But I don't think he'll be forced to sign with us.

You spelled 16 year old Dominicans wrong.

Lol. I was joking about the inevitable series of trade threads where posters propose getting elite prospects back for our failing back-end bullpen arm. I actually think it's realistic that Elias makes some Cashner-like deals this offseason.
